A-A-59326 // MIL-C-27487
A-A-59326 is the current U.S. Commercial Item Description for quick-disconnect, cam-locking coupling halves and fittings used in fuel and water handling. It superseded MIL-C-27487, though many buyers still search by the older spec. Ever-Tite couplings are designed for fit and interchangeability in these systems.
APG Ever-Tite couplings also comply with the following standards (Please ask for details):
- ASTN F1122-22 Standard Specification for Quick Disconnect Couplings
- DIN EN 14420-7 Hose Fittings with Cam locking couplings

Protection where it matters
Custom Anodizing for Field and Industrial Environments
Anodizing strengthens the surface of aluminum parts with a protective oxide layer. For field and industrial liquid transfer, it improves corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance, and durability, and lets components be color-coded for fast visual identification.
Why it matters
For military, defense, and field-based liquid transfer, custom anodizing supports:
- Better durability in demanding environments
- Improved corrosion resistance
- Improved abrasion resistance
- Easier visual identification
- Color coding by application, fluid type, equipment group, or environment
Anodizing Coats
Standard vs. Hard Coat
Standard anodizing of aluminum parts provides improved abrasion and wear resistance through its hard coating, as specified for military applications. For increased abrasion and wear resistance through an even thicker coating, we offer Hard-coat anodizing.
Standard anodizing to specification MIL-A-8625/MIL-PRF-8625/SAE AMS-A-8625 Type II meeting the requirements of A-A-59326.
Hard-coat anodizing to specification MIL-A-8625/MIL-PRF-8625/SAE AMS-A-8625 Type III.

Available Anodizing Colors
Anodizing is available across all promoted coupling types and sizes. Clear and tan anodized are the standard colors, while black and olive drab are by request, in both standard and hard coat finishes.

Common Military-Spec Coupling Topics
A-A-59326 is a U.S. Federal Specification for quick-disconnect, cam and groove (camlock) coupling fittings used in fuel and water handling equipment. It is the current spec buyers commonly reference for military-style camlock coupling requirements.
A-A-59326 is not the same specification, but it superseded the older MIL-C-27487 military specification. Many buyers still search for MIL-C-27487 when sourcing compatible camlock couplings.
Ever-Tite couplings are available in configurations that comply with A-A-59326 requirements and are built to be compatible with legacy MIL-C-27487 applications. Contact APG to confirm the correct type, size, material, and finish for your application.
APG offers military-spec Ever-Tite camlock couplings across the Basic 8 and other configurations, including reducers, increasers, spool adapters, spool couplers, flange cam & groove fittings, and angle-type fittings.
APG's military-spec couplings come in many sizes including: 3/4, 1, 1-1/4, 1-1/2, 2, 2-1/2, 3, 4, 6-inch sizes. Additional size availability should be confirmed with APG's coupling sales team.
Ever-Tite military-spec couplings are available in aluminum, stainless steel, and brass. Aluminum options use 356-T6 aluminum, and stainless-steel options use 316 stainless steel.
Anodizing strengthens the aluminum surface by creating a protective oxide layer that helps improve corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and durability. This is useful for liquid transfer couplings used in field, fleet, and industrial environments.
APG offers aluminum anodizing options in sand brown (30277), desert tan (33446),green (34094), black (37030), olive drab (34087), USMC green (34052), clear, red, and blue. These colors can help with identification, application separation, or field-use visibility requirements. If you'd like a preview of the color codes we have listed in our form below, you can search for the last 5 digits of the color code here.
Standard anodizing provides a thinner protective finish, while hard coat anodizing creates a thicker, harder surface layer for improved abrasion and wear resistance. Hard coat is typically used when durability is more important than decorative finish.
Yes, APG supports Ever-Tite coupling applications for fuel, water, and other liquid transfer systems. For best performance, APG should review the fluid type, pressure, temperature, material selection, and operating environment before quoting.
Yes, APG's coupling sales team can review your application requirements before providing a quote. This helps confirm the correct coupling type, size, material, finish, and compatibility needs.
Yes, the inquiry form can include an attachment option for drawings, spreadsheets, product lists, or other supporting documents. This helps APG review your requirement more accurately before follow-up.
